Shahzeb Mizra

MASc Student

Shahzeb is a first year MASc student in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and joined the ATOMS lab in 2021. His research is focused on the design and optimization of phase change material heat exchangers for electric vehicle thermal management systems. His work is greatly collaborative with the CACT (Centre for Advanced Coating Technologies) lab to study manufacturing processes for such devices and to validate experimental models.Shahzeb received his Bachelor of Applied Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Alberta in 2020. His undergraduate capstone project involved the research and design of a variable expander for an organic Rankine cycle engine, for use in waste-heat energy recovery applications. He also worked as a co-op student in the Dynamic Thermal Energy Conversion Lab at the University of Alberta, where he developed simulation tools to model Stirling engine performance and optimize engine geometry.
