Renzo is a Master’s student in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. He became a part of the ATOMS lab’s Electric Vehicle research team in September 2023, focusing on digital twins for Battery Thermal Management Systems (BTMS). His work primarily involves the creation of digital twins geared towards enhancing the efficiency and safety of EV battery systems.

After earning his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Victoria in 2018, Renzo transitioned into the industry, taking on the role of Data Science Lead at Pani Energy. In this role, he led initiatives integrating process engineering with machine learning to advance water treatment processes. With a comprehensive skill set spanning machine learning, optimization, and various software tools, Renzo remains deeply committed to bridging the gap between research and real-world applications.
