Varun is an MEng student in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Toronto, Canada. His research is focused on predicting degradation on lithium-ion batteries subjected to fast charging. He works on testing electrode materials for various applications including supercapacitors, preparation of biochar electrodes and assembling supercapacitor cells and performing EIS, linear sweep polarizations, and galvanic charge-discharge experiments on electrode materials. He also interprets EIS plots and GCD curves to characterize charge-discharge mechanisms.
