Alba is currently a Research Fellow after finishing her MASc in the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto in 2019. Her previous research focused on oxidative stress, anemia, and kidney transplantation. Currently, she is part of the team working on a second-generation double-chamber bioreactor system for tissue-engineered tracheas, in collaboration with Dr. Tom Waddell’s group at the Toronto General Hospital. Alba is a Venezuelan Medical Doctor since 2005, she earned her specialization degrees in Internal Medicine and Nephrology in 2011 and 2014, respectively.
