Negin Shahbazian
PhD Candidate
Negin is a PhD student in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. Her research involves biomechanics, solid mechanics of vascular tissue and surgical implants, endovascular aortic repair modeling, and improving patient outcomes during surgery. Prior to joining the ATOMS lab, Negin worked in the management consulting industry. She also interned at Honeywell Aerospace working on redesigning components of advanced aircrafts as part of the cost performance engineering team.
Negin obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department at the University of Toronto specializing in Bioengineering and Mechatronics. She also completed her Master of Applied Science degree in the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department at the University of Toronto. Her research was focused on solid mechanics, fatigue and failure analysis, advanced manufacturing engineering, and vibration in lightweight aerospace structures.
