Aleksey Goroshko

PhD Student

Aleksey Goroshko is a PhD student in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on modelling lithium-ion battery aging and degradation mechanisms using machine learning and data-driven methods. His work integrates battery characterization, electrochemical and thermal modelling, and machine learning to improve understanding and prediction of battery health and long-term performance.

Aleksey earned his BASc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2026. Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, he gained experience in the pharmaceutical and food manufacturing industries, working in operations strategy, data analytics, and continuous improvement. In these roles, he contributed to Lean Six Sigma, process improvement, and digitalization initiatives aimed at improving manufacturing performance and operational decision-making.
