Janie is an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Toronto. As a part of University of Toronto Formula Racing (UTFR), she aims to optimize and design high-fidelity battery packs for high-performance motorsport applications. Her research involves thermal and electric characterization, with a particular interest in battery aging effects and the role of mechanical pressure in cell degradation and performance. Janie will contribute to an advanced experimental-numerical battery research program at the Thermal Management System’s (TMS) Lab, which is well suited to support UTFR’s goals and together advance battery thermal management research.
