Marcus is an undergraduate student in the Department of Chemical Engineering. His current research focuses on cell characterization and the prediction of thermal and electrochemical performance parameters of high-power pouch batteries under realistic Formula Racing stress conditions. This work aims to improve electrical powertrain performance by optimizing battery pack design for the University of Toronto Formula Racing team, while also contributing to the lab’s ongoing research in battery thermal management. His broader interests include renewable energy, grid electrification, electric vehicles, battery technologies, and semiconductor manufacturing.
