Maan is currently is a Postdoctoral Fellow at ATOMS lab and University of Toronto Electric Vehicle (UTEV) Research Center. His areas of expertise are designing, modeling, and optimization of multi-physics phenomena, including but not limited to fluid flow, heat transfer, and solid mechanics systems. He also taught core subjects in mechanical engineering, directed research projects and supervised graduate and undergraduate research students. Over the past years, he has been researching battery thermal management systems, for electric vehicle and stationary applications, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and optimization working for the goal of advancing the technology and providing design frameworks for the electric vehicles and battery-based energy storage systems.

Maan holds a Ph.D. (2019) degree and Master’s (2016) in Mechanical Engineering from the Ontario Tech University, and Bachelor’s of Applied Science (2015) in Mechanical Engineering from the United Arab Emirates University.
