I am a Mechanical Engineering student who has recently finished my second year, and I am planning to go into the mechatronics and bioengineering streams in my third year. My research project involves optimizing and improving Dr. Ian Roger’s pancreas and kidney bioreactor for the purposes of recellularization. I will mainly be improving the bioreactor through the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics as well as implementing a system to monitor and control important biological parameters such as pressure and flow rate.
